Welcome to the NNI Research Foundation!
The NNI Research Foundation (NRF) is a privately funded, non-profit
foundation dedicated to supporting clinical research, public
outreach and education focusing on illnesses and injuries of the brain and spine. Founded in 2005, the NRF is a Las
Vegas-based 501(c)(3) public charity founded in conjunction with The Nevada Neurosciences Institute (NNI).
Neuroscience Research, Education and Outreach
Neuroscience is an emerging field of medicine offering those afflicted with a neurological
condition new treatments, improved outcomes and in some cases, even cures. Neurological disorders can be devastating.
It is estimated that over 90 millions individuals are afflicted with conditions such as stroke, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's
disease, spinal injury and brain tumors. As our population ages this number is likely to rise. The good news is
that the prospects for improved treatments have never been more promising. New technologies and scientific
advances are providing researchers and clinicians with the tools and techniques to improve quality of life for people
living with neurological conditions. Never has the field of neuroscience had so many opportunities. Through the
work of the NRF and our associated physician resarchers we are able to contribute to the mounting body of research currently
underway throughout the country by initiating original research here in Nevada and by participating in regional and national
studies. We are proud to be a local foundation dedicated to improving the lives of southern Nevadans living with neurological
conditions.

Research
NRF supports national studies, clinical trials, and exploration of new technologies. Original research, case
studies, clinical abstracts and reviews, and editorial relevant to neuroscience are published regularly in the multidisciplinary
NNI Journal. A listing of research studies currently in progress is also available on this web site.
Education
Seminars and other educational programs designed to advance the knowledge
of neuroscience within the community and among medical professionals are an important part of the NRF. Check the calendar
on this web site for more information and contact us to be added to the NNI Journal mailing list.
Outreach
Building relationships with the non-medical community increases awareness of the NRF and the research opportunities
available to potential participants.
